Porsche and TAG Heuer have officially joined forces, and the first product of their new strategic partnership is a new watch, the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph.
The new chronograph pays tribute to the heritage of both brands, featuring Porsche’s engraved inscription on the bezel, an asphalt effect on the dial with Arabic numerals, and the carmaker’s colors – red, black, and grey.
The movement
The new timepiece will be available with either a soft strap in luxurious calf leather and stitching that echoes the interior of a Porsche, or an interlocking bracelet. At its heart, the new TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph replica watch features the Calibre Heuer 02 manufacture movement with an impressive 80-hour power reserve.

The bezel sports the Porsche inscription along with the distinct font for the indexes.
Of course, there are Porsche sports car features including numerals found on the dashboard, and the dial’s asphalt effect, created especially for this watch, expressing a passion for the road. Look closely and the redesigned oscillating mass on the transparent cristal case back channels a Porsche steering wheel.
This Porsche Tag Heuer chronograph comes in either a racing design-influenced interlocking bracelet strap, or a sportier calf leather strap with stitching that echoes the Porsche interior.
That’s not a bad thing, though. The standard Carrera is built around Tag’s in-house Heuer 02 automatic movement, which is nothing to sneeze at. This version is offered with several unique styling elements, from the bezel, to the asphalt-look face treatment. The steering wheel look employed in the exhibition-style case back rounds out the package. Like the standard model, the Carrera Porsche Chronograph, packs a 44mm case and an 80-hour power reserve.
“The dial’s asphalt effect, created especially for this watch, expresses a passion for the road, while Arabic numerals suggest the numbers on the dashboard of fine Porsche sports cars,” Porsche’s announcement said. “The timepiece is presented either on a soft strap in luxurious calf leather and innovative stitching that echoes the Porsche interior or on an interlocking bracelet reflecting streamlined racing design.”
While this is a pretty cool way to launch a “strategic partnership,” we expect there will be plenty more where this came from.
